David Warburton MP Christmas Card Competition: Winners Announced

 

November 28, 2016 –David Warburton MP for Somerton and Frome has announced the overall winner and four runners-up in his Christmas Card Competition. 

David made a surprise visit to Martock Primary School on Friday to present ten-year old Keira Perry with a House of Commons teddy bear and a certificate.

Launched in September, David’s competition invited local primary school children from across the constituency to submit a festive picture to be featured on his official 2016 Parliamentary Christmas Card. 

WINNER:         KEIRA PERRY, age 10 – MARTOCK PRIMARY SCHOOL

RUNNERS UP: GEORGE TURNER, age 10 – NORTH CADBURY PRIMARY SCHOOL

IMOGEN PATTERSON, age 7 – CURRY RIVEL SCHOOL

MACKENZIE O’DEA, age 10 - KING INA ACADEMY

ALEXA HAINSWORTH, age 7 - KING INA ACADEMY INFANTS

Keira’s picture will be featured on the front of the card, with the four runners-up featured on the back.  The runners-up have each also received a certificate and a small prize.

David Warburton MP’s  2016 Christmas card will be sent to community groups, public service organisations, local charities and businesses as well as to the Prime Minster and members of the Cabinet.

David said, “It was an extremely tough job judging the hundreds of entries we received for but I’m delighted with Keira’s artwork and the four runners-up are also very high standard. Its great to know we have such budding artists here in the constituency and I know that every recipient of the card will appreciate it!”
